Dear Loungeheads,
to be honest, festival booking for the 2026 season turns out being tougher than expected for HEAVY METAL BAR PIANO. Anyway, there’s a fistful of great events in the air and the confirmation for an awesome Metal festival in Benelux will be announced here soon.
But before, there’s an awesome highlight coming this weekend: The Metal Queen Metal Cruise by the one and only DORO Pesch! This event in Cologne means two premieres for Germany’s hardest bar pianist…
First, after six Metal cruises on the sea, this is the first river cruise, on the beautiful river Rhine.
Second, this is the first time an established Metal star has personally invited me. Well, I’ve already had the honour to hit the keys at SABATON Cruise 2024. But the invitation to the DORO Cruise hit me out of the blue. Okay, not really. When having a short chat in Wacken, the Metal Queen – who already had taken notice of me before – told me about her river cruise.
You know, so often musicians talk about doing something together one time. Well, mostly that’s just a phrase. But the former front lady of WARLOCK really meant it. So, this upcoming Saturday (June 6th), I’ll be playing aboard MS RheinMagie.
And of course, I have prepared properly and refurbished some of my 80’s and 90’s Metal arrangements, including one song, I might haven’t been playing for about three years. And a brand new world premiere by the host herself is also included.
