Dear Loungeheads,
a short but very intense summer festival season has come to an end. 15 gigs at 5 festivals in 3 countries in 4 weeks: Tolminator (Slovenia), Wacken:Open:Air, free & easy Festival, Reload Festival (all in Germany) and Dynamo Metal Fest (Netherlands).
I’ve had plenty of great shows, met many great people (as you can see in the pic) and shared the billing with awesome bands: GUNS N‘ ROSES, PAPA ROACH, MACHINE HEAD (twice), GOJIRA (3 times), KREATOR (2x), KATAKLYSM (4x), STATIC-X (3x), MINISTRY (3x), FEAR FACTORY (3x), TRIVIUM, WITHIN TEMPTATION (2x) and many, many more.
I’ve witnessed hailstorm, high humidity, heavy rainfalls, heavy thunderstorms, long-term rain, burning sun, mud, dust and I‘ve had to clean my car more than once in between.
I’ve travelled almost 5,000 kilometres through Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Netherlands and Belgium. I’ve slept in tents, private guest rooms and at a four-star hotel. In between, I’ve been home for a few days to re-charge my batteries again.
And I’ve made a bunch of great memories. But I don’t want to bore you with too many details. Let’s just say: Thank you to everyone who made this intense summer festival season possible!
